What is IT-as-a-Utility™ anyway?

IT-as-a-Utility™ is a term that was trademarked by masterIT in 2006. The phrase describes the way masterIT provides hardware-as-a-service. It is similar to how you use electricity from the Utility Company. They provide the infrastructure necessary to conduct electricity to your house, and you just pay a monthly bill according to how much you use. In much the same way, masterIT can provide you with the IT infrastructure you need, and all you have to do is pay a monthly "utility" bill for what you use.

How does it work?

We begin by purchasing the client's infrastructure for its current book value, generating positive cash flow to the client to the client on day one. Every month the client pays a fixed fee for all of their IT hardware needs. We handle all of the headache and responsibility of procuring, installing, and managing the hardware for the network. This pay-as-you-go solution is totally different from traditional IT methods that consisted of huge upfront costs and constant maintenance of depreciating IT assets.
